The University of North Dakota (UND) College of Education & Human Development strives to provide the best preparation for students who aim to become special educators in schools, hospitals, state and private institutions, and other human service agencies.
The special education online programs offered by UND provide you with the flexibility and convenience you need as a working individual wanting to enhance your career in special education. Through the online programs, you can:
- Take graduate courses online from UND while you live and work in your own community.
- Get the flexibility of online learning with the personal contact and connection of “live” instruction offered through Web-conferencing.
- Work toward completing your graduate program one course at a time. Or, by taking a few courses each semester, you can complete your program faster…it's up to you!
Master’s Degree in Special Education

A Worldwide Center for Children with Special Needs
For over 70 years, Heartspring has pioneered breakthroughs for individuals with special needs. As a worldwide center for children with special needs, we provide education services to students at Heartspring School, pediatric outpatient therapies to children at the Growing Place at Heartspring, as well as consultation services to families and school districts. Heartspring specializes in serving children with autism, mental retardation, developmental disabilities, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and challenging behaviors. Heartspring also offers professional development through Heartspring World Reach, including presentations, hands-on application and implementation, and intensive autism training.
